Scratch PLC conversation 1: lesson design

Notes from a conversation between international educators about directly teaching Scratch concepts or using a more open-ended approach

In a professional learning community, educators gather to discuss their craft and improve their instruction.  As part of a University of Minnesota class project, in early 2010 a group of educators from several countries met on-line via Skype to talk about Scratch in schools.  These notes record the main points of the conversation.

This first discussion focused on lesson design, in particular the approaches of directly teaching Scratch concepts or of using a more open-ended workshop model.
