Hi everyone,
I just wanted to share an article I wrote for Tech Directions about using Scratch in my 6th grade computer class last year. Last year was my first time ever using Scratch. I incorporated Scratch 2.0 into my curriculum to teach my students some basic programming concepts and was also very fortunate to attend a couple of ScratchEd meetups.
My colleague and I had each of our students design an animation illustrating one of the principles of digital citizenship, or norms of responsible behavior with regard to technology use, that they had learned about in our class. That way, they were directly applying what they had learned, and we could also assess their understanding.
