Forrest Hill School

Brief biography:
I am an ICT specialist teacher at Forrest Hill School, New Zealand. I teach children from 5 years old to 10 years old. I have had an interest in programming since I was about 10 years old myself. Using apple logo and applesoft basic to create projects. When Scratch came out in 1997 I was keen to give it a try. Ever since I have been using Scratch with my students. One of my favourite things to do with Scratch is to help children develop their own computer games. Every Wednesday lunchtime I run a computer club in the IT suite, Room 4. The rule is; you can only play games if you designed and built the game. As a result many of the children are keen to develop and share their own games. It’s lots of fun and very collaborative.
