Embedding Scratch in US History/Geography

Given time pressures/standards requirements, how can Scratch be embedded in content areas? A work in progress–4 projects aimed at learning Scratch as part of a 5th grade social studies unit.

If Scratch is a tool for creative thinking, can it be used to enhance the content of a district's standard curriculum?  In St. Paul, Minnesota, fifth grade social studies focuses on US HIstory and geography.  This unit outline takes four map related activities from the curriculum and turns them into Scratch project challenges.  I'm not sure how it would work, so comment away!

Geographic terms

Native American Cultural Regions

European Explorers

English Colonies

The attached projects are templates for the first two activities.

Those are great activities. I used your ideas to develop some specific activities using local subjects.
