Four Questions About Scratch: January 2011 Webinar

In this kickoff webinar, we shared our perspectives on the what, how, and why of Scratch.

In this webinar, we discuss four questions about Scratch:

  • What is Scratch?
  • What is good Scratch?
  • What is Scratch good for?
  • How do different people think about these questions?

We share a collection of Scratch projects across disciplines, describe a design-based approach to learning, and outline our framing of computational thinking.

The slides are attached below.

If you have any questions, please feel free to post them as a comment here.

We hope to see you at the next webinar on Monday, February 28 -- hosting a Scratch Day event.

I am just beginning with Scratch.   I teach 3rd graders who were very interested in "Hour of Code" and have continued with code.org and nclab.  I want to introduce Scratch but am not allowed to use any programs that require email addresses.  Is there a way that I can create usernames/passwords for students under my account?

Thanks,
