Scratch Curriculum Guide Overview: August 2011 Webinar

In this webinar, Mitch Resnick and Karen Brennan introduce the new Scratch curriculum guide.

In this webinar, Mitch Resnick and Karen Brennan offer an overview of the Scratch curriculum guide draft. They start by discussion five key questions about the guide:

  • What is this guide?
  • Who is the guide for?
  • What do I need in order to use this guide?
  • How should I use this guide?
  • Where did this guide come from?

They then follow by describing each of the six parts that make up the 20-session unit:

  • Part 1: Introduction
  • Part 2: Music
  • Part 3: Stories
  • Part 4: Games
  • Part 5: Independent Project
  • Part 6: Conclusion

The presentation slides and a link to the curriculum guide are included below.

If you have any questions, comments, or feedback about the guide, we'd love to hear from you! Please post a comment below or contact us.

See you at the next webinar!

Our middle school would be interested in conducting a pilot of the guide, who do we contact to indicate interest?

Any idea how to get a copy for offline viewing?  I have a long flight coming up and would love to be able to watch this offline.

I would very much like to see the current draft of the Guide

because it could help in developing the local curriculum.

Thanks

Moti

Hi Moti,

Plans are to post the first draft of the curriculum guide on ScratchEd very soon. Thank you for your patience!

If you're planning to use the guide in your curriculum, we're also looking for people who might be interested in conducting a pilot of the guide. After you have a chance to look at the guide, please let us know if you're interested.

Thanks,
Michelle on behalf of the ScratchEd Team
