What is Creative Computing?
Creative computing is...
creativity.
Computer science and computing-related fields have long been introduced to young people in a way that is disconnected from their interests and values – emphasizing technical detail over creative potential. Creative computing supports the development of personal connections to computing, by drawing upon creativity, imagination, and interests.
Creative computing is...
empowerment.
Many young people with access to computers participate as consumers, rather than designers or creators. Creative computing emphasizes the knowledge, practices, and fundamental literacies that young people need to create the types of dynamic and interactive computational media that they enjoy in their daily lives.
Creative computing is...
computing.
Engaging in the creation of computational artifacts prepares young people for more than careers as computer scientists or programmers. It supports young people’s development as computational thinkers – individuals who can draw on computational concepts, practices, and perspectives in all aspects of their lives, across disciplines and contexts.
Get started!
Begin your creative computing experience by downloading the guide at
http://scratched.gse.harvard.edu/guide
The guide can be used in a variety of settings (classrooms, clubs, museums, libraries, and more) with a variety of learners (K-12, college, and beyond). No prior experience with computer programming is required, only a sense of adventure!
Is it possible to get an editable version of the guide and the workbook in English (not the ppt)? We would like to translate it in German :)
Many thanks!
Morena Borelli
How exciting that you want to translate the guide and workbook into German!
The only editable version of the documents are the PPT versions.
I hope that works!

I am interested in tranalating the "workbook, workbook for leaner and quide website" into Traditional Chinese version.
A CC 4.0 license has shown on the website, and I would love to follow this license.
Is there any rules and requirements that I should pay attention to?
Thank you
YH
The description of the license is available at: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/
Hope that helps,
K
Thank you for the information!
All the best,
YH
I've tried many times and it fails after trying/waiting a long time. Is the file unreasonably large?
I was able to download the other files.
There is no contact information on that site so I figured I'd mention it here.
I'm looking forwarding to using this!
The link isn't broken -- the file is large (70MB).

After downloading and a couple of hours reading, I am just curious about how to share translation with others... regardless of Korean, Chinese, French... etc.
There is a website for Scratch internationalization and website translation, http://wiki.scratch.mit.edu/wiki/How_to_Translate_Scratch
But, Scratch curriculum ... Is there any place like github or official scratch curriculum guide site...?
Thank you.

Hi,
I waited for almost two month.
I am interested in translating "Scratch Curriculum Guide" into Korean.
Is there any github site for Scratch Curriculum Guide translation?
By the way, how can I have access to the editable "Scratch Curriculum Guide"?
Thank you in advance
Victor KC Lee

As I am running Mac OS X on my MacBook I used the software filejuicer to create a rtf file containing all texts ( open it with TextEdit )
http://scratchfr.free.fr/Scratchfr_v2014/rtf.zip
Then you can produce the translation with Word or Pages (Mac OS X) ou whatever ...
and a folder containing all the pictures .pdf ( 133Mo , 260 pictures ).
If you want to get it : I can give you a dropbox link
Please, please write me directly at : i.scool@mac.com

Hello
I just start to translate the document
To perform the layout, I realize the document with Pages.
I only cover the text blocks on an imported pdf picture with the newly translated text blocks; it's very easy to do.
I began to identify fonts.
To write titles using uppercase font : Futura
The text of the document you are using a policy that I can not identify.
I do not think it's a font being schrinked with software like InDesign.
The C letter is very particular.
Can you give me the name of the font.
Thank you
Sincerely
JJ
GOOD JOB
In order to translate it in french can you let us download the original file ?
Is an Indesign, Word file ?
It would be very kind of you to let us download this document !
Sincerely
JJ
