Canadian Scratchers: Mark February 22, 2013 on your calendars as Scratch Day Canada

Inspired by CS Education Week (http://csedweek.org), Canadian computer scientists in CACS/AIC (Canadian Association of Computer Science/Association d'Informatique Canadienne - http://cacsaic.ca) have been working to create a national program of events on February 22, 2013 under the banner of Canadian Computing Education Day (hashtag #CanCompEd, website: http://www.CanCompEd.ca).The timing of the event will make it easier for Canadian Computer Science Departments to host visitors on their campuses that day, which happens during a week when many schools don't have regular classes.

CanCompEd Day will also be Scratch Day Canada (hashtags #ScratchDay #Canada).  Can you please help to spread the word?  If you live near one of the schools listed on the website (http://www.CanCompEd.ca/events/), please let them know that you are excited about Scratch Day Canada.  If your own school can host an event, please let us know so that we can add you to the list of events.

At the University of Regina, we are planning to host a day of events on Friday, February 22, 2013.  One activity that I will be doing is the binary guessing game (http://scratched.media.mit.edu/resources/binary-guessing-game-activity and there will be others! We hope to see you in Regina, or at an event near you.
