Hour of code

I decided to try the hour of code event (06/11/2013) in my class with students aged between (9 and 10 years old) and I have to say I have NEVER, EVER seen my students so engaged and excited about learning as I saw then in that moment. Simply Amazing! "Don't just buy a new video game - make one, don't just download the latest app - help design it, don't just play on your phone - program it!" This was President Obama's clarion call as he kicked off this special week and the Hour of Code initiative. Students were spontaneously helping each other solves challenges and gain obvious satisfaction showing off the things they were accomplishing / creating. The enthusiasm was palpable.
